ABOUT

I’m a Chicago based arts administrator and fine art photographer with over 10 years of experience. With a creative eye and a passion for capturing the world's beauty, Jules has built a diverse portfolio encompassing a wide range of subjects and clientele.

Beyond my artistic pursuits, I’ve made significant contributions to the arts community as the Gallery Director at Union Street Gallery since 2019. In this role as an arts professional, I’ve brought my expertise and vision to curating exhibitions and fostering a vibrant space for accessible, community based arts experiences.

With an ever-expanding portfolio and a commitment to promoting the arts, I continue to push my creative edge within the space of fine art photography. My work invites viewers to engage with the world in new and thought-provoking ways, forging connections that transcend the boundaries of time and place.

ARTIST STATEMENT

As a fine art photographer, my work reflects the raw emotions that we all feel. Through my specialization in portraiture and environmental photography, I aim to evoke the sense of loneliness and solitude that is both intimate and universal.

My focus on the individual and our surroundings aims to highlight the complex relationship between the self and the environment. By capturing my subjects in a raw and authentic way, I hope to create a connection between the viewer and the subject, as well as the subject and their surroundings.

I reject themes of tourism and commercialism in my work, as I believe that they detract from the true essence of the human experience. Instead, I seek to create images that are both personal and universal, drawing on the shared experiences of solitude and introspection that are intrinsic to the human condition.
